Rabat, Morocco – June 27, 2025 — In a high-level preemptive operation, Moroccan security forces have foiled a serious terrorist plot targeting the capital, Rabat. According to an official statement from the BCIJ, the suspect, a student at a technical institute, was actively preparing an attack on a religious facility in Rabat. She had reportedly acquired knowledge in the fabrication of explosives and toxins, and had gathered flammable materials and related tools to carry out the planned attack.

During the search operation, security officers seized extremist literature and handwritten materials inciting violence and intolerance, in addition to devices and chemical compounds directly linked to the attack preparations.

The suspect has been placed in custody under Morocco’s anti-terrorism legislation, pending further investigation by the specialized public prosecutor.
